• Biography:

Dr. Haiyun Xu is an Associate Professor (2021– ) in the Department of Landscape Architecture, Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture. She studied Cultural Landscape at the University of Copenhagen and the University of G?ttingen, and received her Ph.D. in Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning from the University of Copenhagen (2020). She is a Scholar of the Beijing Overseas Talent Project

Her research aims to advance sustainability in landscape planning and management by improving understanding of the interrelationships between nature–social ecosystem services and landscape change. Her current research focuses on cultural landscape and cultural ecosystem services, cultural routes and heritage corridors, green infrastructure planning and management, public participation in landscape planning and governance, public perceptions and landscape democracy, and regional sustainable development. Her research has been supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and European Union research frameworks.

She currently serves on the Editorial Board of Humanities and Social Sciences Communications (Nature Portfolio) and acts as a Guest Editor for Sustainability Science（Springer Nature）. She is an invited reviewer for more than 25 high?impact SCI/SSCI journals. And she is now the co-chair of Cityplus Global Networks on Interdisciplinary Urban Studies
