Recently, the International Scientific Committee on Shared Built Heritage of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS ISCSBH) released its 2023 year-end newsletter, which featured the research and practice results of Associate Professor HE Ding and his team of postgraduate students on the sustainable development of the Great Wall under the title of  Sustainable Development and Public Participation of the Great Wall .

Associate Professor HE Ding’s study takes the Great Wall as a typical case and aims to promote scientific decision-making of developing the Great Wall Conservation by addressing issues as threatened heritage, fragile ecological environment and lagging economic development in the region.
