With the theme "Think Beyond the City: Reimagine Klang's Future", the 2026 Belt and Road International Student Competition on Digital Architectural Design selected Klang, Selangor, Malaysia, as the project site. The competition focused on the application of digital technologies in the regeneration of historic port areas and the integration of diverse cultures. This year's competition drew entries from 31 universities across six countries and regions, including Indonesia, Malaysia, the Chinese mainland, Taiwan, China, the Philippines, and the United Kingdom. Following a rigorous evaluation by the expert committee, 10 teams were shortlisted for the on-site final.
