On April 20, 2026, JIANG Hao, President of the Greater China Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), visited BUCEA and delivered a special academic lecture.

Professor YI Tinghua, Vice President of BUCEA, expressed appreciation for JIANG Hao’s dedicated guidance and strong support for the BUCEA student chapter of ASCE(ASCE-BUCEA).

During his visit, JIANG Hao presented an academic report to BUCEA faculty and students, and also provided an overview of the development history, organizational structure, and academic exchange activities of the ASCE Greater China Section.

Since its establishment in September 2022, ASCE-BUCEA has actively engaged with ASCE’s international competition system and achieved strong results in various student contests. The chapter maintains close academic exchanges with leading universities in China and abroad, including Tsinghua University, Tongji University, Southeast University, and the University of California, Berkeley, and is invited each year to participate in the ASCE Greater China Student Symposium. In recent years, the chapter has received two third prizes (2023, 2026) and two honorable mentions (2024, 2025) in the ASCE Greater China Student Paper Competition, as well as two third prizes (2025, 2026) in the Concrete Canoe Competition. It also won the Outstanding Student Leadership Award at the 3rd ASCE Greater China Conference. These achievements highlight BUCEA’s success in cultivating globally engaged talent and demonstrate the university’s steadily growing international competitiveness and industry influence.
